Privacy Policy

Enviro Shield Contracting Corp — Calgary, AB
Effective date: October 2026

Enviro Shield Contracting Corp ("Enviro Shield", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect through our website, why we collect it, and how we look after it.

We are a private business in Alberta, so we handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Where federal law applies — for example, when information moves across provincial or national borders in the course of business — we also follow the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. What we collect

When you use the contact or quote-request form on our website, we collect:

  • your name;

  • your phone number and/or email address;

  • the project address (where the work would take place);

  • your message, describing the project or question; and

  • any drawings, plans or files you choose to attach (optional).

If you contact us directly by email or phone, we collect the information you choose to share with us.

Like most websites, our site also collects some technical information automatically — see Section 9, Cookies and analytics.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as health, banking or government ID details) through the form. We don't need it to respond to your request.

2. Why we collect it

We collect this information only so we can:

  • respond to your quote request or question;

  • review your project (for example, its location, scope and drawings) so we can assess whether and how we can help;

  • communicate with you about your project before, during and after the work; and

  • keep reasonable business records and meet our legal obligations.

3. Your consent

By sending us the form, or by contacting us directly, you agree that we may collect and use your information for the purposes described above. We will not use your information for an unrelated purpose without asking you first, unless the law allows or requires it.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 12). If you do, we may not be able to continue responding to your request or working on your project, and we may still need to keep some records where the law requires it.

4. How we use and share your information

  • We use your information to reply to you, prepare for and discuss your project, and keep in touch about it.

  • Where it is needed for your project, we may share relevant details (for example, the project address or drawings) with people working with us on that project, such as engineers, suppliers or subcontractors. They may use the information only for that project.

  • We may disclose information if the law requires or allows it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Service providers and storage outside Canada

We use trusted service providers to run our website and email:

  • Squarespace hosts our website and receives the information you submit through our forms.

  • Google (Google Workspace) provides our email, so messages and attachments you send us are stored with Google.

These providers may store or process personal information outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is held outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it under those laws. We choose reputable providers and use their privacy and security settings to protect your information.

If you have questions about how we or our service providers outside Canada handle personal information, contact the person named in Section 12.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law:

  • If you ask for a quote and we don't go ahead with a project, we generally keep your inquiry for up to 2 years, then delete or securely destroy it.

  • If we do work for you, we keep project records (including communications and drawings) for as long as needed for the project and for business, tax and legal record-keeping purposes.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see Section 8), subject to any records we must keep by law.

7. How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. These include password-protected accounts, two-step sign-in where available, limiting access to people who need it, and using the security features provided by our service providers. Our website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot promise perfect security. If a privacy breach happens that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta as required by law.

8. Your rights: access and correction

You can ask us:

  • whether we hold personal information about you;

  • for a copy of that information and how it has been used or shared; and

  • to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within the time set by PIPA (generally 45 days). In some cases the law allows or requires us to refuse a request; if so, we will explain why.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information or your request, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (www.oipc.ab.ca).

9. Cookies and analytics

Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies are needed for the site to work properly and securely (for example, to load pages and protect forms from spam).

  • Analytics cookies help us understand, in general terms, how visitors use our site (for example, which pages are viewed and how visitors found us). We use this information only to improve the website.

Where the website offers a cookie banner or settings, you can use it to choose which non-essential cookies you allow. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the contact form, from working.

For more about how Squarespace handles information, see the Squarespace Privacy Policy at www.squarespace.com/privacy.

Our website may link to other websites or social media pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
